Revision Questions

Question sets for working through a lecture after you have read it. Each page holds lecture questions, which check that you can restate and apply what the session argued, and reading questions, which go through the assigned papers and books one at a time.

No answers are published. The questions are written so that a good answer is a short paragraph making a claim and supporting it, which is also how the quizzes are marked: state your position first, then give the reasoning or the evidence for it.

  • RQ1 — People covers personality, culture, communication, motivation, leadership, teams, psychological safety, social loafing and decision making.
  • RQ2 — Processes covers defining and measuring a process, ETVX, the lifecycle models and how to choose one, then agile and its limits, XP, Scrum, Kanban, scaling, the RUP family and process under AI agents.
  • RQ3 — Needs covers customer expectations and success, stakeholders, requirements from elicitation to change, requirements with LLMs, and risk from identification to tracking.
  • RQ4 — Scope covers the work breakdown structure and estimation.
  • RQ5 — Planning covers why and how projects plan, milestones, activity networks, float and levelling, Gantt charts and DSM, why schedules run late, and critical chain.
  • RQ6 — Tracking covers release planning: releases and iterations, prioritisation, Buffered MoSCoW, time boxes and incentives. Monitoring and EVM will be added after that lecture.
